Individual–group tension
Individual-Group Tension (name used in the articles)
The irresolvable tension, born of mutual existential need, between the individual's existential solitude and its dependence on the group. Joining the group makes survival easier but damages autonomy; not joining gives full autonomy but raises the risk of extinction. Both options carry a cost.
