Governing classes

Source shift

The shift of the system's condition of existence — its “indispensable” — away from the lower class, or the sharing of the functions that provide it with alternative sources (capital, bureaucracy, technology, external power). As the source loses its indispensable capacities, source hegemony declines too.

— Physis: A Theory of Power — Concept Glossary

The definition is from the Concept Glossary of Physis: A Theory of Power; the book will be published on Zenodo in October 2026. The English wording is provisional until the official English glossary is published.
