The derivative faculties to which linear time-consciousness gives rise. Choice: being able to act against what Physis dictates. Scale: being able to build systems that outlast an individual lifetime. Temporal symbolic selfhood: being able to place the “I” in time — the self as a story spanning past, present and future.
